22:15 -- Kyoto is really an extraordinary city. The last few days have been a revelation for me, and I?m starting to grasp why people are fascinated by Japan and its culture. It was pouring this morning, so I went to Higashi-Honganji Temple (pictures with the lady in Kimono), which is next to my ryokan. Around 12, it stopped raining, so I took a bike and went for a ride. I have cycled from Sanjusangendo Hall to Gion. Along the way, I have visited Kyoto National Museum, Kiyomizu Temple, Jishu shrine, Sannenzaka Slope, Ryozen Kannon Temple, and some shrines in Gion. There?s a lot to say, but I?d rather not comment. Just come to Kyoto, and experience it.
